Elevators are death traps and Transylvania goes organic

The four big multinational players who control the market - Otis, Schindler, Kone and ThyssenKrupp - are farming out more and more of their elevator sites to contractors who are struggling under mounting work-loads to maintain safe maintenance levels. Toronto 911 responded to nearly three thousand emergency rescue calls last year. Montreal about 1,500 calls, Vancouver 428 calls, Ottawa over 300.
