Happy Birthday William Heath Robinson

“When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!”
― Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Don Quixote

William Heath Robinson (31 May 1872 – 13 September 1944) was an English cartoonist, illustrator and artist, best known for drawings of whimsically elaborate machines to achieve simple objectives.

Happy Valentines Day to everyone

As many of my followers have probably figured out by now I am pro-life, which means that I value all life - from conception to natural death.

So on this Valentines Day I wish all of you lovely people LOVE and LIFE and LAUGHS, after all the rest of the stuff in this world is unimportant. In my opinion anyway.

Never leave your loved one alone in a hospital

I say this again "Never leave your loved one alone in a hospital". I have great respect for doctors, nurses and health professionals but insist on a cot, order pizza and stay with your loved one 24/7. Make note of everyone who treats your loved one. Keep a record of medication. Ask lots of questions.

That's exactly what I did when my oldest son was hospitised for malaria. I lost my job but that was not nearly as important as protecting my child from errors, omissions and bad people.

Writing my obituary

This morning, I was listening to Melanie's "Look What They've Done to Song Ma!" on YouTube and working on chapter nine of my fifth novel.

The main character was struggling to write his obit when SHAAZAM! I suddenly recognized that a year or so ago Mother Nature began gently whispering in my ear that it was time I wrote my own. So,  not wanting 'them' to do something to my song  - intentionally or unintentionally - I began.

Have you begun yours?
