Saudi Arabia is a war criminal, Toyota topples, and China wins again

Why the heck hasn't the UN General Assembly kicked Saudi Arabia, a major human rights violator, off the Human Rights Council?

Oh!.... I know, perhaps it's because China, America, and Russia - each of them even bigger human rights violators - don't want anyone talking about human rights, much less prosecuting violators.

Wow! Look how far the mighty have fallen. It wasn't too long ago that Toyota and Honda were the gold standard for quality, price, and reliability. If they keep this up, Japan will soon be turning out cars just as crappy as those produced by Ford, GM, and Chrysler. Anybody know where I can buy a used Studebaker!

I have no idea what Premier Christy Clark is smiling about. As the Brits would say, this is a case of "shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted". Chinese real estate speculators have been savaging the British Columbia housing market for years - decades even. Thousands of million dollar houses and condos sit empty - sometimes for years - while off-shore buyers wait to flip them or use the property as a safe haven for their, mostly ill-gotten, money.
