No, we don't 'own' the land

I am going to scream if I once again hear that robotic nonsense read out at every public meeting that begins with "We'd like recognize that we are standing on the former land of ...."

No native tribe ever 'owned' the land beneath us, nor did the colonials, nor the City of Toronto, nor do I own the land beneath the house I purchased, nor will my grandchildren, Zyg and Mila Ramsay own land.

We earthlings are simply caretakers of Mother Earth and the sooner we step up our efforts to 'care' for her then the more likely we are to survive as a species.

  1. Well said James. We are merely custodians of our little portion of mother earth.
