Alice in Wonderland and The House of Seven Gables

Went for a lovely walk through Luxemburg Gardens this afternoon and on the way home I found this amazing bookstore on Rue Vaugiard.

 Of course I went in ... and of course I bought a book - two actually.

A 1946 edition of Alice in Wonderland, in French, and an 1896 edition of the House of Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorn of The Scarlet Letter fame.

Fortunately, my grandchildren Zyg and Mila are geniuses so they'll be speaking several languages, including French, by the time they're 12 so reading this edition of Alice will be a breeze.
