Woman's arm cut off by her 'master'

Although slavery was abolished in most of the world a couple centuries ago it seems that slavery of black and brown people is still going strong in Africa and the Middle East. Take for instance sex slaves, child soldiers, miners, agriculture workers, and even Saudi Arabian employers. And like in American and Caribbean slavery - brutality is common.

According to BBC News, yesterday, Kasturi Munirathinam, a domestic from India, had her arm cut off by her Saudi Arabian employer when she tried to escape. Evidently from the day she began her domestic worker job, her Saudi employer prevented her from speaking to her relatives in India, tortured her, fed her substandard food, and worked her long hours.

"African countries with particularly high prevalence of slavery are located in West Africa: Benin, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Gabon and Senegal." .... according to an article in the Los Angeles Times

Just goes to show you that evil comes in all colours.
