Miles and miles of plastic floating in our sea

The BBC reports that there tons and tons of plastic floating in the Mediterraean Sea.

Dr Morritt, of the School of Biological Sciences, told BBC News,"Plastic doesn't degrade in the environment - we need to think much more carefully about how we dispose of it, recycle it, and reduce our use of it."

What can you do?
. Use recyclable shopping bags
. Put all your plastic in the recycling bin - not the garbage
. Cut down on your purchase of plastic wrapped goods
. Email the customer service department of consumer goods and ask them to cut back on their use of plastic wrapping
