Let's keep oil, uranium and coal in the ground
It never ceases to amaze me how significant a portion of us earthlings are naysaying, head in the sand, Mother Earth hating idiots.
Take Eric Reguly's column in last Saturday's Globe and Mail in which he lobbies for our continued reliance on non-renewable sources of energy.
Here are a few quotes from his article...
"Earth's natural, long-term warning and cooling cycles might have some influence on the profound climate change we are seeing"
"The hype surrounding the growth of of clean energy borders on the ridiculous"
"The statistics from some countries (about the clean energy market) are... sloppy, purposely exaggerated or simply difficult to collect and decipher"
"Wind and sun are erratic"
And so on and so on he goes. The self-serving rants of a dinosaur.
But it his last sentence that I would like to comment on...."The cost (of using renewable energy sources) will be truly horrendous, maybe unaffordable" ... tell me Mr. Reguly, what will be the cost of replacing earth?
