Today is the United Nations International Volunteer Day, an important day to recognize and celebrate the participation of people making a difference locally, nationally and globally.

The United Nations views volunteerism as a way for all people and countries to achieve peace and development through the elimination of poverty and reduction of inequalities and exclusion amongst our communities.
