Interesting article. The writer, Tristin Hopper, says that people who fail to line up or jump the line are perceived as uncouth or uncivilized (yes, they are!) but former Tehran prisoner and author Marina Nemat says that lining up is for "rich people" because "we can afford to be polite, we can afford to respect each other" .... Nonsense!
But it reminds me of I conversation I once had with a store owner who was complaining about shoplifters. When I asked him why his store was victimised so often he said "probably because I'm in a poor area" to which I replied, "poor people don't steal, thieves steal."
