Kudos to photographer Jonathan Cruz for his kindness
"A Vancouver photographer captured a different side of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside this weekend, photographing residents in a neighbourhood known more for poverty than portraiture.
Jonathan Cruz set up a studio in Carnegie Centre on Saturday morning, inviting locals to stop by throughout the day for the seventh annual Free Portrait Vancouver event.
In a neighbourhood with many low-income residents, Cruz said the initiative provided a rare opportunity to be professionally photographed for free."
