Goodbye

Thank you, the tens of thousands of followers, viewers, and commentators who have been kind enough to devote a few moments of your time over the years to my blog.... but in the words of the King (Alice Through the Looking Glass)

“Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”

Today is the United Nations INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

"I refuse to accept the idea that the "isness" of man's present nature makes him morally incapable of reaching up for the eternal "oughtness" that forever confronts him.

I refuse to accept the idea that man is mere flotsom and jetsom in the river of life, unable to influence the unfolding events which surround him.

I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism   and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality."

..... Martin Luther King Jr., part of his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, 1964

Amazon implies that no Black sailors, soldiers, or pilots served in WWII

Just watched the WWII movie MIDWAY on Amazon and discovered to my surprise that no Black soldiers or sailors or pilots served in the war evidently..... Really Amazon?... You couldn't find one or two Black actors to include with the hundreds of actors and extras in this $100 million dollar film?

Shame!

Happy Grandparents Day to all the grandparents of the world

"Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children."

"Please trust us!" - said the pharmaceutical company

"Please trust our hastily brewed vaccine. We promise it won't hurt you and we pharmaceutical companies really, really need to make another few billion dollars selling this stuff."

Will Brigette Nielsen like our screenplay?

Had a great chat with an amazingly talented actress and director yesterday. She's reading our script this weekend. We're hoping she will like our Erin Brockovich/The Equalizer-style feature film CUSTODY DENIED! and come onboard as director.

In the meantime, we are still waiting for Brigette Nielsen to get back to us. Hoping she will play the lead.

Dumpster divers are not criminals - they're responsible citizens

Kudos to German students 'Franzi' and 'Caro' who stood up for the environment and challenged German law in Supreme Court.

These two students were arrested for removing discarded food from a grocery store's trash bin.

Prosecute the Enola Gay crew and their commanders for war crimes

On August 6, 1945, these disgusting excuses for human beings incinerated 145,000 men, women and children. Seventy-five years later, people are still dying from radiation poisoning and cancer. We still prosecute prison guards from the Holocaust, why are we not charging these men and their superiors with war crimes?

If Bruno Dey is a murderer than so are millions of other soldiers

Bruno Dey is indeed guilty of murder - though he was 'just following orders'. Next in the docket should be a million or so soldiers - also 'just following orders' who killed civilians in WWII, Korea, Viet Nam and Iraq.

Oh!, and what about the crew and commanders of the Enola Gay who dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and incinerated hundreds of thousands of Japanese men, women and children.

The lonesome death of Jacobo Luis Fuchs

On this day - seven years ago - my friend Mr. Fuchs was rendered unconscious with drugs then denied food and liquids. Seven days later he died of starvation in a nursing home room - alone - surrounded only by the whirl of machines, cold fluorescent light, and impending death.

"You who philosophize disgrace,
And criticize all fears.
Bury the rag most deep in your face
Now is the time for your tears."
